Introduction
Welcome to iFell ("we," "our," or "the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how we handle your personal health information. This Privacy Policy explains what data iFell collects, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.
By using iFell, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
Health Data
iFell accesses and processes the following types of health data through Apple HealthKit:
Heart Rate Data
- Read Access: We read your heart rate measurements to display current heart rate information and monitor your cardiovascular status during and after fall events.
- Write Access: We write heart rate data to your Health app when recording heart rate during the 1-minute period following a detected fall. This creates a permanent record in your Health app for you and your healthcare providers.
Motion and Fitness Data
- Accelerometer Data: We access your device's accelerometer to detect sudden changes in motion that may indicate a fall.
- Gyroscope Data: We use gyroscope data to analyze movement patterns and improve fall detection accuracy.
- Motion Activity: We monitor motion patterns to distinguish between normal activities and potential fall events.
Device Information
We collect minimal device information necessary for app functionality:
- Device Type: iPhone and Apple Watch model information
- iOS/watchOS Version: To ensure compatibility and proper functionality
- App Settings: Your preferences for fall detection sensitivity and monitoring
Usage Data
We collect basic usage information:
- Fall Detection Events: Timestamps and metadata about detected falls (stored locally only)
- Heart Rate Recording Sessions: Duration and statistics of recording sessions
- App Interactions: Which features you use to improve the app experience
How We Use Your Information
Primary Uses
We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:
- Fall Detection: To monitor your movement patterns and detect potential falls using motion sensor data.
- Heart Rate Monitoring: To automatically record your heart rate for 1 minute after a fall is detected, providing valuable health data for emergency response and medical evaluation.
- Health Tracking: To display your current and historical heart rate information within the app.
- App Functionality: To provide core features including:
- Real-time fall detection monitoring
- Automatic heart rate recording
- Heart rate statistics and trends
- Apple Watch synchronization
- Background monitoring
- Service Improvement: To analyze app performance and improve fall detection accuracy (all analysis done on-device).
What We DO NOT Do
- ❌ We DO NOT sell your health data to third parties
- ❌ We DO NOT share your data with advertisers or marketing companies
- ❌ We DO NOT transmit your data to external servers or cloud services
- ❌ We DO NOT use your data for purposes other than those stated above
